Hello collaborator! I want to let you know that I am cancelling the Yes-No Spectrum Class, for now. My work has been growing out of a practice of listening to my body. Listening to my body means taking time each day to sit quietly and notice feelings and reflect on patterns, and then taking action to honor the meanings and needs behind the sensations. In regard to the Yes-No Spectrum class, something felt a little "off" about it, right from the start. I recall how much loved being in and facilitating Everything But The Words. After finishing though, I felt exhausted and drained from all the promotion leading up to the classes. I dreamt of creating and marketing subsequent offerings in ways that were more restful and rejuvenating. After that realization, I rested a bit and, with some fresh energy, I thought "maybe I was just tired" and went right back into a pattern of work that I had previously held, a pattern that was motivated by scarcity. I was afraid that I would not be able to make enough money if I didn't keep up a hustling pace. Scarcity is the feeling that there is not enough. It whispers with urgency, creates fear, and bolsters illusions that "if I just work more, buy more, save more, do more, then I will have enough". Scarcity is exhausting, and it prevents creativity and connection. I do not want my work to be motivated by scarcity. I want it to be motivated by gratitude, contentment, community, and reciprocity. So, rather than push forward for the next few weeks chasing the fear that I don't have enough, I am going to pause here for a moment and practice gratitude for what I already have.
