Co-Regulation with Dogs: A Workbook
This is a FREE Co-Regulation Workbook for sensitive dog guardians. Learn to understand both of your nervous systems, reduce overwhelm, and create more ease together.
Note: After checking out, you’ll see a screen that says “Order Summary”. To the right you’ll see a button that says “download item”. Click there and you’ll receive your workbook.
Co-regulation is a supportive process between two beings that promotes nervous system regulation and rhythm in both beings. Co-regulation is also a strategy for one being to teach nervous system regulation skills to another being.
While co-regulation is most often thought of in the relationships between human parents and their children, co-regulation can occur between any two beings who are in relationship with one another. This workbook explores how to practice co-regulation with dogs.
This workbook explains what co-regulation is, how it works, and how co-regulating can help both you and your dog understand your nervous systems, communicate your feelings, and get your needs met.
Complete with graphics, practical exercises, and a breathing activity you can do with your dog, this workbook will help BOTH you and your dog find relief while cultivating a deeper connection with each other.
The Co-Regulation Workbook has been updated as of June 2026 and now includes more exercises, clearer explanations and examples, links to additional resources.
But that’s not all!
*Introducing: The Co-Regulation Foundation Series*
When you click the button (during check out) to join my mailing list, you’ll immediately receive a bonus reflection exercise. The next day, you’ll begin receiving The Co-Regulation Foundation Series:
5 weeks of stories, practices, and nervous system tools that help you stop blaming yourself, understand your dog's behavior through the lens of co-regulation, and begin building a relationship that feels safer, gentler, and more sustainable for both of you.
Each week in the series includes:
a personal story from my own journey
1 practical co-regulation lesson
1 bonus resource or guided practice
gentle encouragement to help you replace shame with understanding and create more ease together
Ultimately, co-regulation isn’t a dog training technique, it’s a way of relating to yourself and your dog. This series will give you a foundation to become someone who lives life through a co-regulation lens.
Add the workbook to your cart, find relief, and begin your journey. I (and your dog) will be with you every step of the way!

This book is an educational tool, and I hope that it supports you and your dog in finding attunement with each other.
It is not meant to replace therapy for humans, nor is it a replacement for dog training or veterinary services. If your dog is behaving with anxiety, reactivity, or aggression, it is recommended that your dog be seen by their primary veterinarian to rule out pain or an underlying physical condition before proceeding with any behavioral modification plan.
I, Sharon Vincuilla, do not make any claims or guarantees that you will achieve specific results by engaging with this work. Behavior is a result of the interaction between beings and their environment, therefore you and your dog's environment are responsible for your dog's behavior.
